Cat. 4.12's

Featured Replies

hi all,has anyone tried the (Ati) Cat 4.12's with FS9? if so, how are they compared to the Cat. 4.11's? happy flyin, fm

fm,>has anyone tried the (Ati) Cat 4.12's with FS9? if so, how are>they compared to the Cat. 4.11's?Yes. I like 'em (9800Pro 128MB). Only thing I noticed was that FS 9.1 looked darker...bumped the gamma up in CCC (Color) to 1.20 for FullScreen 3D. The Omega's are good too. Both seem very stable on my system. You might want to try both, see what works best for you.jb

thanks for the info. jbi don't have the CCC - from some of the reports i've read over at the Rage3d forum it seems to be a big "Memory" hog. happy flyin, fm

"from some of the reports i've read over at the Rage3d forum it seems to be a big "Memory" hog."It doesn't use alot of memory, but why should a video card tweaker use any? CCC is pretty and fun to play with (making custom skins) but it doesn't do anything that the standard Control Panel won't do. I like ChrisW's Radlinker tweaker that comes with the Omega drivers.Greg

Greg,>>It doesn't use alot of memory, but why should a video card tweaker use any? I like ChrisW's Radlinker tweaker that comes with the Omega drivers.<) my Dell 8300 seems a bit light in the cooling area/and PS so I passed on that. Is there a Read Me for the Omegas I missed? Also wanted to mention that your posts are very informative, and I (and I'm sure many others here) appreciate that. That said, you posted something re: locking Vsync that was on the ATI site...can't find it, or your post with the link. Could you post that again please, or just PM that?Regards,jb

Hi jb,"Also wanted to mention that your posts are very informative, and I (and I'm sure many others here) appreciate that."Thanks, this is a great place and it's fun to help when possible."Is there a Read Me for the Omegas I missed?"He has the Readme on his site (hope this link get's you there... not too sure about it): http://www.omegadrivers.net/ If that doesn't get you to the right page click on "ATI Radeon" and then "Omega FAQ", or it will be on the page where you download the drivers. "...you posted something re: locking Vsync that was on the ATI site...can't find it, or your post with the link. Could you post that again please, or just PM that?I think you mean this: http://www.teamradeon.com/articles/guides/...vsync_guide.aspThis one is kinda neat, too: http://www.tweaktown.com/document.php?dType=review&dId=601Happy Holidays to you and yours,Greg
