January 22, 200521 yr Hi everyoneI thing that FS9 behaves strangely on my PC.When I fly fast over big areas of mountains I have good fps (around 25) but usually my pc doesn't load the detailed textures and elevation and if i fly over a small city i usually don't get to see nothing more than a grey stain (no roads or buildings are being loaded on time).I don't thing it's because of my HD and if my 3D card is not good enough then why don't I have low FPS???????What's the problem? The display settings are full with 1024*768*32 and traffic 50%. My PC is:Athlon xp 2600+,MB:Asus A7N8X Deluxe, 1GB PC3200 Ram, HD:Maxtor SATA 120GB, Ati radeon 9600 Pro (gigabyte)4.12 catalyst.I would be interested if there are any saggestions for an upgrade.Thank you.

January 23, 200521 yr Thanks for the post.First off is your AA. You need to disable in the sim. Your card is strong enough to to do the job itself... by enabling AA in the sim you force the sim to do the AA, thereby making it do the work you want the video card to do. Always configure AA and AF in your video card tweaker and disable AA in the sim. So:AntiAlias=1 80-90. Doing so will save resoures for other rendering and you'll likely not notice any difference.TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=0.000000TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=0.000000The two above, TDR and TER, are often misconfigured when the sim is first installed. Try setting TDR at 4.5 and TER at 9.5TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=1307992Another misconfig when your sim first installed. The default value here should be "1" (and I suspect that the sim is "seeing" the "1" in your value above), but you can try 2,3, or 4 to see what looks best to you. Finally, there is the option in the "Display" page of the sim to enable "Ground Shadows". Do not enable them. They are a huge resource hog and cause more problems than their worth. Hopefully MS will get that issue squared away in the next version.Good luck,Greg
