March 1, 200521 yr I am "bugged" by a slow and persistent memory leak - and I need help to figure it out.My setup is FS9 (with update) running together with FSNav on a 3.Mhz Pentium 4 CPU with 2 repeat 2 Gigabytes of high speed ram.FS9 is installed on a fast RAID (0) drive - plenty of hard drive space left.I am only running FS9 and FSNav - all other apps have been "terminated" before starting the flight sim. Here is what happens: I start my flight (say with the FS default 747) and looking at the Windows Task Manager, the initial "PF Usage" is 580 (so there is almost 1.4 Gigs of ram left). The "CPU Usage" is 54 - 65% or so. After 30 minutes of flying, the Flight Sim begins to slowly "gobble up" the ram....and after about an hour or so....all the ram has been used and the flightsin crashes to desktop. Before doing so, the fps drops from 40 to 1 fps! And the CPU is running at 100%.I have re-installed everything...and I am not getting any closer to solving this persistent problem. I thought the memory leak had been solved with the MS update...but it is still driving me nutz ;( Any suggestions will be welcome!CVJ
March 1, 200521 yr Do you get memory leaks on a clean installation of FS, i.e., without any add-on?Emerson
March 1, 200521 yr Hello,Did you install new sceneries? Probably: yes!You have a (or more) Landclass .bgl file loaded in a scenery folder and this scenery folder is associated with a texture folder.Landclass .bgl MUST be loaded in a scenery folder BUT NO TEXTURE folder is allowed. Hope it helps Emile EBBR Z590 Aorus Elite, i9-11900K 3.5Ghz Nvidia RTX 5070, 32 GB Mem, SSD 3 Tera , 3 monitors Win11 Pro X64 LM P3D V6.1 Little Nav Map Hifisim Nvidia 591.44
March 1, 200521 yr Why in the world did this get moved here? It's obviously not a hardware problem. Would the moderators please do a better job at keeping the hardware forum free of non-hardware related posts?Dan
