Which speakers would you recommend?

Featured Replies

I'd like to upgrade my speaker package. I've been getting a lot of feedback with my current speakers. I think it's beacause when I set them up a few years ago, I was clueless about how to setup speakers. Anyway, I was thinking about going with the Creative Inspire 5500 5.1 Digital speakers. Does anybody have these and like them, or is there something better I should go with. I'm looking to spend around $150.Thanks,Tim

if it really is feedback you are suffering from it is only caused by your microphone picking up sound from the speakers. If this is the case you need to mute your microphone or unplug it, this will stop it playing through the speakers and you will have no more feedback. try this first and if your problem is cured all well and good if this does not cure the problem it is not feedback. to use a 5:1 speaker system you need a soundcard with 6 channel output; 2 rear, 2 front, 1 for the centre speaker and 1 for the sub woofer. the sound card should have a setup wizard to help you set the speakers up.

I apologize for using the incorrect terminology. It is not feedback because I don't have a microphone plugged in. It's a crackling that I sometimes hear from the speakers. I have checked the wiring, and followed all advice for curing such problems with an Audigy 2 ZS soundcard. If I do decide to go with the 5.1 digital system, how does that plug into the soundcard? There is no optical input on the card, but there is a jack labled "Digital Out"Thanks for your assistance.Tim

Yhis may not be related to your problem, but some soundblaster cards, like the soundblaster live, and some of the Audigy cards are not very compatible with some chipsets. I had a lot of problems, including crackling noises, with my soundblaster Live and VIA chipset. You might check with a set of headphones wether the problem is really the speakersAllard,
