Unable change button assignment MS ForceFeedback 2

Featured Replies

I have run into a problem changing an assignment on my MS ForceFeedback2 joystick. I want to re-assign button 3 as a "Push-to -Talk" button (FSUIPC assignment)I went through the Options > Assignments and deleted the assignment for button no 3, which is the default for negative trim.I checked that the assignment no longer showed in fs9.cfg.I re-assigned the button in FSUIPC (buttons) and it qorked correctly as a Push-to-Talk button with AVC on a remote laptop...BUT...unfortunately the button also still sets the negative trim.It is almost as if the joystick is hardwired for the default settings.Any suggestions on how to solve this little mystery?(I did re-boot after changing the assigmnments)Thanks in advancecvj

not sure what your problem is but they can be changed because i have changed my FF2 assigments, not sure if it is relavent but i have not set any buttons in FSUIPC only in the game options/control assignments. i have buttons 3 and 4 set up for spoilers and after burner. the changes work imediatly in the game no need to even reload the plane or flight.

Thanks Bruce,I think I finally figured it out...I just have to disregard the small "- trim" window that shows up when I press button 3. The trim is no longer connected to button 3 and instead I do get the "Push-to-Talk" action I programmed thru FSUIPC.So it looks like that small window is always active, no matter what re-programming is done to the "3" button on the MS ForceFeedback 2 joystick.Perhaps another unintended consequence by the Microsoft designers? :+Cheers,
