March 23, 200521 yr In reinstalling Fs9 and sorting through all the files, I accidentally clicked on a *.wx file inside my saved flights for the sim and now all the associated *.wx files are opened with MS Notepad. I had wanted to assign Notepad to the *.flt files, not the *.wx files. How do I change the *.wx files back to the MS Windows icon I had before?Appreciate any help on this, thanks!JS Jonathan Sacks Dell XPS Gen 4, Pentium IV Northwood extreme 3.8Ghz, 3Ghz RAM, eVGA 7900 GTO, 12 GoFlight modules plus MCP-PRO AP and EFIS, GF pedestal, CH rudder pedals, CH throttle quadrant, 42" LG LED, 24" DELL LCD, Windows XP, FS2004, FSUIPC 3.96 FS Autostart 1.1 (Build 11), FS Navigator 4.6, UT, FE, GE, REX, PMDG, Level-D, PSS, etc.
March 23, 200521 yr Author No, too complicated. Besides, restore to what time/date?But I FOUND the answer. Here:Open up Windows Explorer, hit Tools > Folder Options.Click the File Types tab, select each image format (JPG, GIF etc), hit the Advanced button and select "Change Icon..."Courtesy OSNN Forums - File AssociationsWorks perfectly. That's the procedure I was guided to on AVSIM ages ago. It was a question of changing the icon since the CHOOSE PROGRAMS to open a file in Windows is highly selective and too limited. There are scores of icon-identifed programs not on the standard Windows list. One forgets....Amazing place, the web, eh?!JS Jonathan Sacks Dell XPS Gen 4, Pentium IV Northwood extreme 3.8Ghz, 3Ghz RAM, eVGA 7900 GTO, 12 GoFlight modules plus MCP-PRO AP and EFIS, GF pedestal, CH rudder pedals, CH throttle quadrant, 42" LG LED, 24" DELL LCD, Windows XP, FS2004, FSUIPC 3.96 FS Autostart 1.1 (Build 11), FS Navigator 4.6, UT, FE, GE, REX, PMDG, Level-D, PSS, etc.
