March 27, 200521 yr Does anyone know if FS2002 or 2004 will take advantage of dual processors? An IT guy I know advised me that even though the operating system may take advantage of two processors the software must be capable as well or it would be wasted expense. Thanks!Roger
March 27, 200521 yr AFAIK, neither sim takes advantage of a second processor, not even the HT psuedo-second processor in the latest P4s.Gary 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11
March 27, 200521 yr Gary is indeed correct, FS is not a multi-threaded program, and as such will not take advantage of HT or dual CPU's......however, if you have other programs running in the background, e.g. ActiveSky, Time correction etc etc, then you could utilize the second physical or virtual CPU to some effect.Dan.
March 27, 200521 yr Thanks Dan & Gary!On another subject, have eithr of you installed/flown an L1011?I have several installed but have not had any luck with finding a 1011 panel that works. I've gotten 747 & 737 panels to work but not others billed as L1011 panels. Thanks!Roger
