April 30, 200521 yr Could any one help.I have fully adjusted the joystick, but when I run within FS9, it does not self centre. Help! Help!
May 1, 200521 yr I think you my have failed to realise that FS9 does not "centre" the joystick as such. It tries to model the forces that airflow exerts on the control surfaces (elevator & aileron).I can't speak for FS9 as I'm still running FS2002, but you may get a better sensation of feedback by purchasing and installing FS Force (www.fs-force.com). This has a much better force feedback algorithm and feels much morelike what an aircraft feels like.Although $45 Canadian is quite expensive it really adds a lot to the flight experience. You can download a demo of the software to try it out.
May 1, 200521 yr I don't have your joystick but I have a well recognised Logitech Force 3D stick. I have been dicking around for months inside fs9 with "Control Sensitivities" especially with the Rudder control. This, I reckon, is where the more intricate joystick calibration is carried out with fs9.I point out that 'Centering' should be in the global device controls of the force feedback section for your stick, at least it is with mine. Just a checkbox. If not, then commence wading through different drivers for your card. Amazing how everything seems to work with an older driver and as soon as you install a later driver, there is one small annoying thing that does'nt work. You don't identify your card but I'm aware that ATI cards have some issues with different driver updates. More the method of correct installation other than anything else. Apparently, that's been the thing with ATI. Great hardware, crappy drivers.I guess that last statement will attract a flaming:)Another thing I found which made my joystick more stable was by removing the bundled software program for the stick and just using the generic Windows control and calibration program. I don't know if this has helped, but that's how I achieved success.Jon
