Problems with HID drivers for toe brakes...

I have a USB adapter hooked up to my system to facilitate toe brake action with my analog CH products setup. Win XP (Home) So when I go to calibrate my joystick I have two listings, one for the yoke, and one for the USB adapter. The system works very well. The problem is that everytime I shut down the machine I lose the drivers for the adapter (when I go to device manager, the USB adapter is gone) - I then have to go into my device manager, uninstall the HID devices, shut down the machine and then at start up I recieve the new hardware prompt which allows me to reinstall the drivers. This never used to happen - a few weeks ago I had to do a repair install of Win XP and that is when the problem started. Any ideas??? Thnx!!!!
