Which settings are you using in your 3D settings in the Control Panel concerning:1) AA2) AF (quality or perf)3) MipMap QualityAnd in FS:4) MipMapThank you!Why I'm asking: I'd like to crank my mipmap in FS9 to 6, though it's giving me terrible shimmering, most of it terribly noticable over water at some cruise alt of 30,000ft.

1) AA 6X2) AF (quality or perf) 8X (Quality)3) MipMap Quality HighAnd in FS: 4) MipMap 4I have the Radeon X800XT PCIe video card. Anything higher than 4 for MipMap's gives me shimmering too.Jim

Thanks for your kind reply. Anyone else care to report their settings?

Running an AIW X800 XT on an Athlon X64 3500+ at 1280X1024 on a 17" LCD, I use the following settings:1) AA 4X2) AF 16X Quality3) MipMap Detail Level= High Quality through the card and set to 4 in the sim.As Jim above mentioned, setting mipmap in FS to anything higher than 4 causes severe shimmering.

I wonder, is this thing due to the driver, card, or FS9?I mean, would this be better on nvidia card for example?

Shimmering is an issue with FS, not video cards and drivers. Same as the guys above said, anything higher then 4 for Mip Map in FS produces terrible shimmering.
