June 25, 200520 yr hello,i have a question about fs9 and two monitors.i use a radeon 9800 pro 256 mb, and two monitors.1 monitor (radeon pro.0) is 21 inch2 montito (radeon pro.1) is 19 inchi use this in windows expanded desktop. should i leave the settings for both monitors the same, or should i change something in the cfg, i notised its almost inpossible to have different settings in the fs9 display setup, but it is possible to put mip map and filtering on 0 for the second monitor in fs9 cfghas someone some knowledge of this, i want to use the second monitor for my fmc (pmdg/leveld767), but i am just on the edge of fps(using asv real weather etc)like 20 - 25 and would like to have some more.i think it's not possible to dissable direct x for a monitor sepperately?regards rickint pent 4.3(2cpu)radeon 9800 pro256
June 25, 200520 yr lets put it different, is it possible to make it easier for the ati radeon and the cpu's(fs9 don't use two i believe), by changing settings for the second monitor. I don't know how to do that, by the way i am using the catalyst 4.12 drivers. rick
June 25, 200520 yr Hi Rick,Look in your FS9.cfg file. You'll find two sets of definitions for your Radeon 9800. You can configure each one separatly. I don't know how much difference it makes to performance but here is what mine looks like for my 9200.[DISPLAY.Device.RADEON 9200 SERIES (Omega 2.4.96a) .0]Mode=1024x768x16Filter=0TnL=0// PanelAsTexture=1[DISPLAY.Device.RADEON 9200 SERIES - Secondary (Omega 2.4.96a) .1]Mode=800x600x32TableFog=0TriLinear=1On my systm, the primary (device .0) is used for panels only and the secondary (device .1) is used for scenery views (Cockpit or Spot).Like this:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/120602.jpgI hope that this helps. June 26, 200520 yr I'm not sure what you mean by "expanded desktop". In any case you can set hardware acceleration on the secondary monitor to two notches above none to minimise what the secondary display adaptor tries to do for FS. As long as you are not trying to run a second 3D view on the second monitor, which kills performance in general, the performance of your 2D panlels will be as good as it gets!Gary 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11

June 26, 200520 yr thanks,Ati will not let me handle different hardware acceleration on two monitors, for example if i do this for monitor 2, it changes also no 1. Also i tried this in dxdiag.with expanded i mean desktop expanded to second monitor. So far i have the cfg changed in fs9 putting panel as texture= 0 for the second monitor.i will experiment a litlle with this, thanks for the repliesrick
