June 25, 200520 yr I recently upgraded my video card to a Radeon x850 XT. Couple with a P4 3 GHz CPU and 1024 MB DDR333 RAM, I would think I could better at Simflyers EWR. I'm getting a mere 6 FPS there. Now I know that Simflyers sceneries are frame eaters but I think I should be able to do better than 6-8 FPS. My sliders aren't TOO far right and my AI is set to around 60% I have all the latest drivers installed. I'm also getting pretty slow load times within FS. I have completed a memory defrag within the past week.Any ideas of where to start looking?I have always been an nVidia card. This is my first ATI, so perhaps there is a key setting I am missing? I have also set the latency on the card down to 32.Thanks,TimWindows XP HomeDirectx 9.0c
June 25, 200520 yr Did you delete your FS9.cfg file so that FS04 would recognize your new card? What CAT drivers are you using? The latest are the 5.6's.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
June 25, 200520 yr What are your AA and AF settings at?Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
June 25, 200520 yr 4x AA and 8x AF...@ 1024x1280 The reason for the high AF is to rid of blurries. I still get blurries though. I've tried all the FS9.cfg tweaks for that as well.
June 25, 200520 yr Blurries in the distance are normal. It's the up close ones that you need to worry about. Depending on your weather and cloud draw distance, yes you should be doing better than what you are.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg

Try turning AI traffic off, and see what happens. Moreover, in ATI control panel, Advanced 3D, there should be 2 sliders named "Texture preferences" and "Mip Map detail" (I don't have the english version of the panel, so maybe the words are a little different), those sliders make a HUGE impact on framerate on my system, try lowering a bit them.Marco "Society has become so fake that the truth actually bothers people".
