Very Low Frames Rates?

Featured Replies

Hi to all of you.First excuseme for my poor english. I'll try to tell you my problem. My computer: P4 1.7 Ghz. RAM 512 Dual Channel ATI Radeon 9550 (512 MB)I'm using Flight Simulator 2004 (FS9.1) and when I'm use the PMDG products, or PIC ERJ-145 I can't obtain more than 10 or 12 Frames Per Second (FPS), why?, my FS is very slow, when I'm taking off, those aircrafts are freezing up, not at all, but too much to be hangling. When i'm flying into or near clouds, too, my frame rates slow down to 3 or 5 FPS, too much.I would like to know what can i do, i'll be triying all, new fs9.cfg, uninstall fs9 at all and reinstall it, and always is the same.I like to know too, what is the best machine that I can buy to use with Flight Simulator 2004, I mean the best PC (Mother, Processor, Video Card!!!, Sound Card, etc...) vs. Cost. I'll be able to pay U$S 2000 to 2500.Thank you in advance.Emilio

Welcome to the forms Emilio!I'm sure others can go into a lot more detail but let me sum it up this way.FS9 is CPU hungry & with your current system & a complex plane like PMDG, you are getting what I would think is the most you can get from your system.I'll let others elaborate if they wish but the best you can do is turn the "eye candy" way down, get a new cloud set that isn't as hard on the frame rates (there is an excellent free set here in the library) and then finally, even with a top end computer, you can't expect FS9 to run full bore with tons of FPS.Hope this helps you some.Jim
