July 12, 200520 yr Can you see both computers in Windows Explorer, under My Network Places, Entire Network, Microsoft Windows Network, Workgroup (WORKGROUP, MSHOME, or some other name you chose for your workgroup). If not, check each computer's full computer name and workgroup name. Press Start, right-click My Computer, select properties, Computer Name tab. Record the computer's full computer name and workgroup name. If the workgroup name is different, you need to change one of the computer's workgroup name to match the second computer. You also need to ensure each computer has a unique full computer name. One could be named Computer1 and the second Computer2.To make changes, press the Change button and fill in the appropiate blocks, click OK. You need to reboot the computer for the changes to take effect.Once each computer has a unique full computer name and belongs to the same workgroup, you should be able to see the computers as detailed above. The next item is to share the drives, folders, subfolders. It is best to only share the minimum amount of any drive, folder or subfolders for security reasons. Also make sure you give permission to have others change the files and folders, if you want total control.W. Sieffert Bill Sieffert
