Frame rate issues with Athlon 64 3000+ chip..

Featured Replies

Hi there,Though I bought FS2004 a year ago, I only installed it yesterday after upgrading my computer to the following specs:ASUS A8V Deluxe MotherboardAMD Athlon 64 3000+ Processor1GB ExtremeX DDR PC3200 (400Mhz) Dual-Channel RAMGeForce MX4000 128MB Video Card (AGP 8X)Win98SEWhen I installed the program, I set my sliders to mid-high ranges, and locked the FPS to 30. However, I did disable AutoGen and AI traffic. Alas, my framerates at Toronto-Pearson with the default 737 were less than 12. That seems unreasonably low given my new system specs. In fact it's not that much different than what I was getting with a P4 1.4 and 640 SDRAM. I'm wondering if there's something wrong and whether I should re-install the program. If anyone could shed some light on this I'd greatly appreciate it. In the meantime, I'm gonna try setting the FPS slider to unlimited and see what results.Cheers,Cale

I know that FS2004 is very CPU dependent, but could the problem be your GeForce MX4000 card? Is that not a budget card?RH

Win98SE is your problem along with the video card. With a system like that you should be running windows XP. Also, look into upgrading your video card. Doing these two things will make a big difference.

I agree,,,win98 can't really deal with 1 gig of RAM,and that MX video card has got to go.
