Huge FPS drop in cockpit

Featured Replies

Hi all!I havent noticed this earlier, but lately I have had a huge drop from aprox. 25 to 10 fps when I move from outside view to cockpit view.I haven't changed hardware lately, but went from the ATI Catalyst Utility to the latest Omega Drivers (in order not to spend most of my flying time booting the pc).The Realair Spit and Marchetti doesn't suffer from this, so my guess is that it has something to do with gauges.Oh, an these ...TextureAGP=0PanelAsTexture=0... didn't make any difference. Also there's some kind of seasick oscillating time-syndom in the pit, not stutters, but more like waves slow-fast-slow-fast in half-second cycles (no, I'm not mental, this is just a bit hard for me to explain in a foreign language).Any help is highly appreciated :)br

Try reinstalling your motherboard chipset drivers followed by a reinstall of the Omega's.Greg

>Sounds like possibly your GART table has been FUBAR'd.That's why I'm feeling dizzy? What kind of language is that? As if it's not hard enough for me to understand english :-hmmm.But I understood the rest, so I tried to reinstall my via drivers and Omega's. Unfortunately nothing changed. Thank's anyway Greg for the effort. Always highly appreciated :)br

GART: Graphics Address Remapping Table. In simple terms, GART provides a handshake between the video card and motherboard chipset. PCI-e does not use GART (which is good... one less thing to worry about).FUBAR: F*****{edit by me} Up Beyond All RecognitionI'm still not convinced that your chipset drivers are not the problem. The action you describe (as I understand it) sounds exactly like what happens when the video card drivers suffer a bad install. They fail to establish a good handshake with the motherboard chipset drivers thru GART.What does DirectX Diagnostic show (click on Start>Run> type "dxdiag" (without the qoutes". Wait for the Diagnostic to stabilize, then clcik on the "Display" tab. If all is well the 3 DirectX Features should be enabled. If even one of them is disabled then your problem is chipset/video driver handshake.Might also be a good idea to use DriverCleaner to properly clean away both your chipset drivers and video drivers. Then reinstall in this order: DirectX, then chipset, then video drivers.Good luck,Greg
