ATI 9800 pro fan making noises

Featured Replies

the fan of my Radeon 9800 pro (128M) seems to slow down to a visible turn rate (not very fast), and makes a noise when this happens. Louder when slowest.I have a new ANTEK 430W TRUE installedCan I remove the fan on that videocard and still run it? without destroying the GPU that isallen

Simple answer: No, you can't remove the fan as it will fry your GPU. However, there are 3rd party fans available that you might be able to install.Hope this helps.

Well I remedied the situation by replacing the fan and heat sink with a better copper one w/fan, an ICEBERG4very recommended and easy to install with some hints from the store tech.And...I seem to have a bit of an increase in fps? or am I dreaming, and more stable performance to boot...?allen
