Notice to all ATI card owners

Recommended Posts

Came across this thread while browsing through some tech forums.Adaptive Anti-Aliasing is evidently supported with the Catalyst 5.9 driver. What this does is it gets rid of those annoying shimmering that you see on fences and autogen trees. It makes the overall picture looks "cleaner".However use AAA wisely as naturally there will be some FPS hit.On my X800 PRO it is minimal and worth the effort.A word of warning,to enable this you have tweak the registry.Do this at your own risk.It does work, you will find an extra icon on the CCC below Temporal AA.I would think that ATI would probably make this official in the next driver.Good Luck.

Can you please give us some links or tell us where in the registry is this tweak? And does it work with usual Control Panel, not CCC? I kinda don't like the idea of running CCC, it just eats much too much memory and CP is very light.

Set ASTT_NA to 0 in the registry location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetContro lVideo{5A61609A-036A-4D32-B447-F0E42DA9714D}00005A61609A-036A-4D32-B447-F0E42DA9714D this number is different for every one , you may have multiple numbers at the location because of multiple driver installation but only one is active. To be sure just change the value in every one. This enables the option in the CCC tray iconNext create the key ASTT as string(REG_SZ) and set it to 1(REG_BINARY works too) to enable adaptive AA.More info onhttp://www.beyond3d.com/forum/showthread.php?t=24069Hi Word Not Allowed.Have not tried it on CP so I'm not sure if it works. Can't see any reason for it not to.All the Best

Now this finally works.absolutely fantastic!no need to set ASTT to 1 tho, cause the CCC or CC will set it in Binary anyway (3100)

Installed 5.9's with CCC. Still not working here. I set ASTT_NA to 0 and created ASTT with 1. The option is now enabled on the CCC but no changes in FS.The previous tweak, DX Override with d3d9.dll worked very well: http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...id=10400&page=2Do we have to search ASTT_NA across all the registry ? or only inside HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlVideo ? same when creating ASTT ?Can someone post before/after FS screenshots ?Thanks

It works now. I installed the latest ATI Tray Tools and activated the Adaptive AA from there. It doesn't works from CCC.I don't find any difference with the d3d9.dll tweak (http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=197&topic_id=10400&mesg_id=10400&page=2), have to investigate further.BEFORE:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/128848.jpgAFTER:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/128849.jpgRegards,

How do you stop AAA from making the 2d panels blurry though?
