October 25, 200520 yr Hey all... I wanted to get your feedback on my planned system. I'm still playing around with some things here and there but I'm relatively settled on this:Case - http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?...N82E16811119023Monitor - http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?...N82E16889107001Motherboard - http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?...N82E16813131540CPU - http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?...N82E16819103546Video Card - http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?...N82E16814143036Memory - http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?...N82E16820145575Hard Drive - http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?...N82E16822144160DVD-RW - http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?...N82E16827152047Sound Card - http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?...N82E16829102162Power Supply - http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?...N82E16817103931Heatsink/Fan - http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?...N82E16835106038Operating System - http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?...N82E16837102065So how's it look? October 25, 200520 yr Hi Todd,Looks pretty good. I would look at another memory choice, though. OCZ or G.Skill would be my first choices. The sound card is some of the best hardware available, although rumor has it that the Creative software team is a group of monkees all locked in a room and pounding on keyboards. Also, take a look at the Thermalright CPU coolers (XP90 or even the XP120. Make sure the XP120 will fit on the A8N-SLI. The XP90 does for sure).Good luck,Greg
October 26, 200520 yr If you want silky smooth FS2004 performance, then read this post ...http://forums.simflight.com/viewtopic.php?t=42361I purchased exactly that system (I got an athlon 3500), and it is REALLY smooth in FS2004. Nothing wrong with the system you have found (I agree you should go with the OCZ memory quoted in that post), but you can get excellent FS2004 performance for less.Ray Keattch
