5.1 sound help (4 speakers)

Featured Replies

Hi all...I know that FS2004 doesn't support 5.1 speakers. There's a tweak going arounf to be able to get the 4 speakers in a 5.1 speaker set to sound by adding to the fs9.cfg this...[sOUND]SOUND=1SOUND_FADER1=0.500000SOUND_FADER2=0.460000SOUND_FADER3=0.620000SOUND_FADER4=0.800000SOUND_FADER5=0.810000SOUND_FADER6=1.000000SOUND_QUALITY=2Channels=4SamplesPerSec=44100BitsPerSample=16The problem is that I've done this and still only get sound from my 2 front speakers (and the woofer)....Any help? What can be wrong? I every other game that supports it I get the full speakers sound..Thanks,Carlitos

Hi CarlitosI don't use 5.1 sound myself, but maybe you must somehow tell FS to seperate the sound in the right channels?Channels=4doesn't specify this. Do you have 5.1 in other games, just curious?Sorry, no big help-Dasher7

when you go to the windows control panel, then sounds and audio, what does the advanced button on the speaker settings section say? It should give you a drop down menu to select the number of speakers

Hi Alex...Yes, the number of speakers there is 5.1 speakers, and I am getting 5.1 dolby sound from Battlefield 2....Any ideas? Thanks,Carlitos

I had this issue too, but with my new computer I purchased a sound blaster audigy 4 and it works fine now. All I can think of is playing around with that sound section in the fs9.cfg file.
