  1. Start doing the math... $20 bucks for a few islands and a couple of plane perhaps? How much to have the entire world as we do right now, plus the wealth of premium freeware aircraft? I guess we need to do and IPO ala Facebook to raise enough cash... LOL...Chale
  2. Hawker 800xp with and without winglets....
  3. Thanks PIC007... I've already purchased that one, and you're right... it might be the closest avialable... I was just wondering if I have overlooked some other or if someone has a "home made" solution that would share with me....Cheers!Carlitos
  4. Hi guys.... How come there are no Raytheon Hawker 800XP or similar available for download and/or purchase? It's interesting that these being so popular as business jets, there are not any payware quality ones to be found...Our company operates an 800xp that has just finished having it's winglets installed and there's nothing to be found for FSX like that. I mean, there are som AI models out and some people have made some models available (and I'm very grateful for them), but I was looking for something with payware or semi-payware details.... FSD International once had one in the "Soon to be released" categor, but they scraped it....I was wondering if someone else feels the same way I do and if someone has an 800xp (or similar 800) in their flight collection they'd be willing to share with me or point me in the right direction....Thanks all for you help...Carlos
  5. Hi guys... I have one of those new 27" imac with ATI Radeon HD 4850 512mb GPU and i7 core processor.. I can run FSX perfectly (under Windows 7 in bootcamp). The thing is that I tried to run FS2004 but right after I double click to start I get an error stating that FS2004 could not get the Hardware 3D mode cannot be enabled...b I have tried reading many postings and I have played around with the display.cfg file, but cannot get it to work... I have installed the latest drivers....Can somebody shed some light on this matter please? Has anyone been able to get it to work? It's as if the ATI Radeon HD 4850 is not recognized by FS2004....Thanks in advance!!!!Carlos
  6. Hi people...I have seen all the great improvements on performance people have with single and dual core PCs... I can only wonder what is the benefit of having a quad-core PC with FSX and SP1 installed...This should be an interesting thread. Anyone have any reports on performance on this type of setup? Thanks!!Carlitos

  8. Guys,Checkout the next to last image at http://www.fsplanet.com/fsplanet_com_fsx.htmI think I'm not mistaken, do I see sloped roads??? Can this mean sloped runways??CarlitosP.S. I hope there's no problem in pointing to the image on the link above....
  9. Hi all...My question is, I mostly fly in Central and South America and there isn't the same amount of chatter as there is when flying in the US....Can I "cheat" RC into putting the same chatter as when you fly in the US when actually flying in C/S America? Specially in Central America... Thanks,Carlitos
  10. Hi Alex...Yes, the number of speakers there is 5.1 speakers, and I am getting 5.1 dolby sound from Battlefield 2....Any ideas? Thanks,Carlitos
  11. Hi all...I know that FS2004 doesn't support 5.1 speakers. There's a tweak going arounf to be able to get the 4 speakers in a 5.1 speaker set to sound by adding to the fs9.cfg this...[sOUND]SOUND=1SOUND_FADER1=0.500000SOUND_FADER2=0.460000SOUND_FADER3=0.620000SOUND_FADER4=0.800000SOUND_FADER5=0.810000SOUND_FADER6=1.000000SOUND_QUALITY=2Channels=4SamplesPerSec=44100BitsPerSample=16The problem is that I've done this and still only get sound from my 2 front speakers (and the woofer)....Any help? What can be wrong? I every other game that supports it I get the full speakers sound..Thanks,Carlitos
  12. Thanks Alex for taking the time to respond to this... I have tried most of the things you mention here, but the thing is that temperatures get higher and higher...I will try some stuff out and if I get anything different from what I have now, I'll let you know...G'day mate...Carlitos
  13. Alex,I am using 275FSB because my memory is holding me down. This weekend I am receiving 2x1GB Crucial Ballistix which I think I can get to run @ probably 290FSB 1:1.Regarding the multiplier, I can't get my CPU to go past 2520Mhz stable. What kind of cooling do you have? What's the ambient temperature?Where I'm at, the ambient temp is about 32C... I'm at the office at the moment, so I don't remember the CPU and Case temps, but I'll let you know later....Any tips???? Do you have a max temp that you think might be a limit to let the processor get to?Thanks,CarlitosP.S. I feel like I made this post at overclockers.com's forum, hehe.. But beleive it or not, this is all intended to make FS2004 go smoother...
  14. Can you get your CHThrottle to do Reverse Thrust without CH Manager???Can you please elaborate if so?Thanks,Carlitos
  15. Bob, you wouldn't gain anything regarding FS2004 IMHO upgrading to 2GB. You're better off upgrading your videocard to an ATIx800 series.... Read my post regarding the "upgrade" I made to my videocard.....Best regards,Carlitos
  16. Guys.... You got me all wrong....If under the same circumstances you are using your PC's, I am ALSO getting the same FPS....The point that I'm trying to make is that I thought I was UPGRADING when I changed from an x800Pro to a 7800GT, regarding FS. I didn't end up upgrading....!IMHO, I get almost the same performance with the new card, plus Antialiasing with the ATI was much better. It's not that I am dropping to slideshow framerates. My framerates are OK, same as you all... but before I also had the same FPS, if not a little better... My conclusion, regarding exclusively FS2004 (because in other games I do see the upgrade working) is that from an ATI x800Pro to a 7800GT you don't get any performance upgrade. The way I'm trying to see it today, so I don't get frustrated, is that when FS10 hits the shelves, I think that at that point, my 7800GT WILL be a better option than an x800Pro.Sorry if I confused you guys... I hope all is clear now, and now I wish to hear your opinions.... Have any of you made a similar upgrade???Best regards to all,Carlitos
  17. Yeap, used DriveCleaner Pro as advertised!! I don't think is a driver issue since the two cards are from different vendors. Plus the motherboard drivers are new. Also, other games work much better with the 7800GT than with the x800. I am referring specifically to FS2004. And, it's not that they don't work, it's that for FS2004 ATI is a lot better card IMHO. The X800 outperforms the 7800GT and the 4xAA on the ATI is as nice or better than the 8xAA on the 7800GT.For other games (I only play FS2004 (not a game) and Battlefield 2), the 7800GT is better....Carlitos
  18. Hello all...I just wanted to word my opinion here. I really thought I would be doing an upgrade when I went from x800Pro to 7800GT... But man, I was wrong....With my ATI I ran at 4xAA at full settings and got no less than 25FPS everywhere, with 100% 3D Clouds, lots of traffic, the works, at any given airport...When I installed my 7800GT with the same specs, I was seeing 14-17FPS in the same places that I before saw at 25+fps.. Plus, 4xAA in the ATI can only be compared to Nvidia's 8xs, so it would be even less fps if I turned it up to 8xs.Noow, I have installed Nvidia's 81.85 and 77.77 drivers. I am keeping 77.77 because I think there's a little more performance in them... I want to hear your opinions on this please. If I had to go at it again, I would buy the ATI X1800 instead... I have to admit I bought the 7800GT becuase it was $100 cheaper and all the reviews conclude that performance wise are the same, although they don't do test comparisons on FS2004, only on Doom3, FarCry and stuff like that....What do you think? 19. JD,In a previous post you mentioned you'll try to pull out of the manual the comparison chart of RC4 vs RC3.1 (similar to the one you have right now on your website).... Can you please do it? We are very eagerly waiting for this product, and this will make us even more anxious, but please go ahead...Thanks,Carlitos
  20. Hi Ron,This is on the way of what I was thinking. It's good to hear someone is doing something in that way. I am no coder at all, just your average nightly user (when my daughters give me time) and I will be happy to help you in any way possible if you wish...It is rare that there is small interest in this, becuase at least for me, the best part of flying is landing and I love to take off, go around a few times and practice all kinds of landings, to make perfect. If I could choose how to start FS2004 in order to practice this, it would be great (ILS, VFR, severe weather, crosswind landings, emergency procedures, etc.). But it doesn't have to be just for landings... It could also be use for takeoffs (selecting where, which aircraft, weather conditions, time, etc. etc.), situational flights, etc. I think once simmers realize the potential for this, it could be a great utility!!!!Let me know what you think and if I could be of any help...Thanks,Carlitos
  21. Hi Andrew,Thanks for your post. This is helpful for doing what Mike suggested. Since I haven't gotten a response to what I originally asked for, I am guessing there's no utility for doing this. Basically I am askinf if there's a utility for generating FS2004 Flights, without having to enter FS2004.Thankk you all for your interest and helpfulness..Carlitos
  22. Thanks Mike,I knew this... But, this means that you have to go physically create each situation you want before using it. What I was thinking maybe a program like those TweakFS programs that will let you choose from your aircraft list which aircraft to use. Then speed, location, situation, weather, etc. so this could be created on the fly.I hope that someone sees this if it hasn't been done because it could be on of the best little utilities ever IMHO.Thanks guys...Carlitos
  23. Hello all!I was wondering if there's a program that will allow me to select how I start Fs 2004. Meaning, let's say I want to be flying the 777 near Princess Julianna to practice landings. I wisho to start flight sim with a double click of an icon that will set me up in a 777 of my choice, at a selected spped, flaps down, gear down, etc. and on medium final of TNCM...Are you following me? This program will allow me to set an aircraft, the setting of the airplane when creating the situation file (flap positions, airspeed, gear, gas amount, etc.), select if on short final, long final, holding pattern, etc., at a chosen airport. This would be great! So whatever I am in the mood of practicing before entering FS2004, I just set everything up and when Fs2004 starts I would be ready to go....Does something like that, or close to it exist? Thanks knowlegeable experts!!!Carlitos
  24. Well...I have tried heading 220, and the heading in which the runway actually is, which is close to 220, but nothing. THe flight plan I file is mpda-mpmg.Thanks for your prompt responses. I will recommend this program and your support to all my fellow simmer friends!!!Bests,Carlos
