Heads Up on Windows XP Service Pack 2

About a week ago, I was unable to reinstall or upgrade ATI drivers for my 9800 Pro. Fortunately, the system restore worked to an earlier date.My Lexmark Z52 printer also ceased to work. I could not even get it to be recognized by windows XP Pro.A third problem, was that I could not format a floppy. The format command was not recognized.ATI suggested that I reinstall .NET Framework. After I deleted it and the .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack, I was unable to reinstall the service pack even though I got a continual update notice. I upgraded to .NET Framework 2.0 but still got the update notice.Bottom line: On a hunch I deleted the Windows XP Service Pack 2 and reinstalled it upon immediately getting an automatic update notice. (This is NOT the .NET Framework Service Pack mentioned earlier, but the Windows patch).All problems went away!If you are getting similar sympthoms, I would suggest giving this a try.Respectfully:RTH
