dual core, say again?

hello guys!!!!I am no expert in laptops but I need to get a better one. I have my eye on a laptop that seems quite good for its price but I have a question which is bugging me badly, it comes with Intel Core Duo T2400 (that

Looks like a Dell 9400 (or E1705) to me. If it's anything like my 9300 (see specs in sig), it will certainly hold its own in FS2004 vs the fastest desktops out there. I don't think dual core does much, if anything, for FS2004, but future games (and hopefully FSX) will likely take advantage of this technology.Gary

Thanks for that Gary, indeed its a dell 9400 with the above specs. Im glad you think it will be a good machine for fs2004 plus all addons. Just out of curiosity, with your 9300 how are your frames per second? I imagine they are great with good weather settings but what about with the LDS767, stormy weather with lots of clouds and a 3rd party mega scenery/airport??? Im sure you know what I mean, I want to know how it copes when "the road gets bumpy"....thanks again.

I may not be the best one to ask on maximum loading, as there isn't a computer yet that I haven't been able to pull near single digit FPS in FS2004 with a full mix of addons and sliders to the right, including both of my current systems. For the most part, I see 20 FPS+ on the ground and 50FPS+ in the air.Having said that, I am confident that FS2004 will perform as well on a Dell 9400 as it will on all but the most powerful of desktop computers. In fact, you'll be hard pressed finding a faster notebook computer than the Dell 9400 for most games, what with its 7800 GPU and duo core CPU.Gary
