Opinions on widescreen purchase

Featured Replies

I am pondering the purchase of a Gateway 21' widescereen LCD for using in FS9 VC mode. There are some much larger LCD TVs available around here, but are not advertised as monitors. Are these good? I think their native resolutions are relatively smaller? meaning they would look stretched (resolution-wise not circular reproduction-wise) at that size screen (32"). And they rarely mention response times with the TVsallen

A few weeks ago I bought a 32 inch Samsung LN-R328W coming from a 21 inch flatscreen crt monitor. ITS AWESOME.Yes the max rez is 1380 with the refresh rate at 60. At first I was a little dissapointed but you gotta remember I was running in the 1600s with a refresh rate of 85 on a crt. But very quickly, a day , I got accustomed to it and never looked back. The immersion factor of a big screen more than makes up for the lost rez imo. Now I can actually navigate by landmarks where as before only a very small part of the screen was terrain.

I currently use 1152 x 864 but on 2 identical 19" diagonal flat screens at only 60Hz as I think my monitors are aging, I get flashings at higher rez.1280x1024x32 in full-screenThank you for your input.Futureshop allows for a 14 day grace period for returns.allen
