May 13, 200620 yr I have followed various threads on the AVSIM forums about widescreen monitors for some time and finally just decided to buy one last week with a discount and a coupon ($780) direct. It is breathtaking. It runs in 1920x1600x32 using a Radeon X850 XT PE and the card powers another DELL 1801 fp for FSNav and instruments (1280x1024x32). Performance is incredibly good, far better than I imagined. But most interesting to me is how there seems to be no visible distortion of the gauges in most a/c in the 2-D view. The Cessna has slightly oval gauges but the jets look extremely good and pretty much normal to me. I was expecting to see some weird stuff and have to compromise over some views, but it looks generally great. And I did not adjust the aspect ratio or any such stuff. I only adjusted the color saturation and brightness after plugging in and powering up.If anybody else is wondering whether this is worth getting, the answer is a resounding yes. It's totally fantastic. The PMDG 744 gauges are about life size if I use the PMDG zoom function and even without, they are plenty readable. And the VCs are totally readable and lifelike.[Of course I shouldn't've really bought this at all as I have a lot of other financial commitments but I am sure many folks will understand when I 'splane: it's just my FS addiction at work here !]JS Jonathan Sacks Dell XPS Gen 4, Pentium IV Northwood extreme 3.8Ghz, 3Ghz RAM, eVGA 7900 GTO, 12 GoFlight modules plus MCP-PRO AP and EFIS, GF pedestal, CH rudder pedals, CH throttle quadrant, 42" LG LED, 24" DELL LCD, Windows XP, FS2004, FSUIPC 3.96 FS Autostart 1.1 (Build 11), FS Navigator 4.6, UT, FE, GE, REX, PMDG, Level-D, PSS, etc.
