Video Card

Featured Replies

I'm in the process of building a PC to be used primarily for FS. I'm looking to get a video card that can run the program smoothly with sliders maxed out. I've looked at many but am looking closely at a GForce 7300 GS 256MB card. Will that meet my needs? And if not, suggestions? ThanksOther specsP4 630 3.0ghz2GB DDR2

CPU makes much more of a difference to FPS in FS than graphics card. What CPU are you strapping it to? Gary

Reading your post again, I see that a 3GHz P4 is yor CPU of choice. I am not familiar with the 7300 but it sounds like a castrated 7800 of some sort. Also, a 3GHz P4 is not exactly a front line performance CPU, so you will be struggling to get a full sliders right outcome with your proposed setup. You should maybe consider a faster p4 ($$$) or an AMD Athlon 64 of 3500+ speed and a graphics card like either a Nvidia 6800 / 7800 or an ATI 1800 / 1900 for optimal performance. If you are thinking FSX, then it may be better to wait and see what hardware specs it demands.Gary
