Hi everyone :)I have just bought a new laptop:Intel

Have you installed all the drivers?. Chipset etc.. Also try reinstalling your videodrivers, after you reinstall directx. So uninstall your current driver, reinstall directx and then reinstall your forceware>the part where the aircraft spins is constantly blackLower your AA/AF, its a known issue

hi thanks for replying, what do you mean by chipset drivers and the etc please? (bit of a noob when it comes to this) :)thankssimon

No worries Simon, just check what brand your motherboard is, then go to its manufactures website and download the apporiate drivers. Also check if there are any other drivers issued by the maker.

Hi,thanks again. il definitely do that!.I have just reinstalled FS9 and got this response:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/153126.jpgthis is an example of what I have been getting.thanks again!!!! :)simon

:-roll whoa... this display is it just with fs? or is it all the time like this?.. Also what type of monitor u have CRT or TFT?

hi,its just FS. i load it up and its fine. then i change aircraft and it does this and just freezes. im not quite sure about whether its crt or tft but it is "X-Black LCD with double lamp technology". (whatever that is !)thanks againregardssimon

That'll be an TFT, (CRT are those big boxes) ;)... ok... if its in fs only..do other games run ok? have you tried any?.. if they are fine than we can rule out your card.. Can you check with other game see if the result is the same?It "could" be an issue with your refresh settings in fs and not being able to be displayed on the monitor.

Hi,wel i am running Battlefield 2 with no problems whatsoever, probably coldnt run better!. and ive got other games which are all fine. such as Splinter Cell, World of Warcraft are all fine.I think it must be an FS problem.hope we can sort it outregardssimon

Simon. hmm ok..lets see.. try starting up fs in safe mode...NOT windows safe mode.. but the safe mode shortcut in the fs folder.. lets see if that will make any difference since it will use software rendering mode wich is independent of the video hardware and drivers.

Hi,yes that works fine, but it looks VERY bad. im sure thats because its safe mode though. :)as im sure youve worked out im a noob when it comes to hardware stuff.what does that mean if it now works like that in safe mode?thanks againSimon

If you are running FS full screen, your in-game screen res could be set too high. Hit ALT-ENTER to go to windowed mode and see if the problem goes away.Gary

Ya could try window mode however you must run fs in full screen mode to take full advantage of the GPU... But yeah try deleting fs9.cfg and start it up normally (fs will rebuild a new file automaticly) see if running it in 640x480 changes anything try switching full screen to windowed.. as to what safe mode does, it "bypasses" the hardware display, your videocard, and runs it in a software modus using fs own capabilities to render a display, hence it looks and runs like crap.ps. I send you a PM
