August 16, 200619 yr Hi,I have an ati radeon sapphire x800gt agp, now I have installed the latest ati catalyst 6.7. I know that there are other different video drivers like "omega" and "dna". Anybody know which are the best?I have listen from a few people that the omega drv is better for reduce the problem with blurry texture..is true??
August 16, 200619 yr People like the Omegas in general because they unlock more options and give you more control over your card. Also, the control panel for it loads faster than the some sluggish CCC.However, with any hardware or software implementation, the more control you have over something, the more advanced it becomes, and definitely gives you the opportunity to mess things up. If you know what you are doing, then use them and you should be fine. If you don't, then just make sure you mess around too much with stuff if you don't understand what it does. As for performance, I haven't done side by side benchmarks to compare, but I'm positive that there are plenty of open-source supporters who will tell you all about how great Omega drivers are. I personally have seen fine performance and no troubles with them, but I also don't see a noticable improvement.
