Hi I have a new issue, it has been ongoing , and happens at least every 10 startups.I have sb creative audigy z2 card and sometimes when i start my computer I get a error that svchosts has failed , Then the sound card stops working . Then you need to reload the driver and all of the sound blaster program. It requires a retart . The sound card will work again after a reload on the software and restart of the computer, but most of the time I have to do a system restore.XP does not give me any clues in the event manager other than "load pref" and error on "svc". I have tried to move the card in the computer and change slots.That did not work either?Any ideas? It's a strange world!Peter

Could be the intersvc worm.Search for the file intersvc.exe. If you have it, you have the worm.Allcott
