Planning to build a new computer for FSX

Need advice.I was going to go with this:ViewSonic 20.1" Widescreen LCD Monitor Leadtek PX7900 GTX Geforce 7900GTX 512MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card - OCZ S.O.E 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 667 (PC2 5400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Intel Socket T (LGA 775) Intel 975X ATX Intel MotherboardUpdate Intel Core 2 Extreme X6800 Conroe 2.93GHz LGA 775 Any suggestions on what to do. I'm not planning to build until Jan/Feb.Dupo

All OK but the Widescreen for FS. Streched panels or not filling screen are crap IMO. And until Jan/Feb, there will probable be new things on the market already.

Widescreen is great for flying VC though. If you're mostly a 2D flyer, then widescreen may not be for you.Gary

I just want to know if that's overkill or not for a computer. I'm not too happy about DX10...but Vista is an option.

Why didn't you say so ;)For FS9, you can have all sliders to the right + multi-addons and it will be great, bordering on overkill. You can never have too many FPS though. For FSX, with moderate-high slider settings, it will be good but, as with any FS release, it will only run great (all sliders right + multi-addons) on hardware available in one to two years time.Gary
