October 15, 200619 yr Hi all,A question what is a better upgrade for my PC to make fsx run more smoother:1: going from a => Leadtek Winfast A6600GT 128MB 300/900 1xDVI, AGP to a => XFX GeForce 7600 GT 560M/1.4Ghz 256Mb, 2xDVI, AGP2: going from a => P4-2.8Mhz 478socket (o/c 3.35Mhz) to a other CPU?Does anyone have any idea?????CheersL.Jim
October 15, 200619 yr My guess would be to stick with the CPU, make sure the RAM is 2GB or more, and upgrade the bejeebus outta that video card. You're probably going to want one bigger than a 7600 also.Just my 2 cents.-Jeremy Burchhttp://home.earthlink.net/~dawgfighter/sit...es/swvasig1.gifSWVA4806 http://www.virtualswa.com/home.phpThe Ozark Dogfighter http://forums.avsim.net/images/wedge.gifHappy Flying!
October 15, 200619 yr Author Hiya Ozark Dogfighter,Well at this moment I have 2gb mem on my mainboard.What do you mean with the bejeebus of this video card?????Which video card would you pick????? (for AGP)L.Jim
October 15, 200619 yr Lol, just meant that the 6600 probably isn't going to look pretty. As far as upgrades, if you're limited to AGP, then the 7600 would probably be your best bet. -Jeremy Burchhttp://home.earthlink.net/~dawgfighter/sit...es/swvasig1.gifSWVA4806 http://www.virtualswa.com/home.phpThe Ozark Dogfighter http://forums.avsim.net/images/wedge.gifCurrent system:Pentium 4 Cedar Mill 641 (3.40GHz), Abit AW8D, Gigabyte GeForce 7900GTX (512MB DDR3 PCI-Express x16),Corsair XMS2 Pro 2GB PC2 6400 (DDR2 800), 2 SeaGate Barracuda 250GB hard drives, Sound Blaster X-Fi PlatinumKlipsch ProMedia Ultra 5.1 speakers, NEC 20" CRT, Microsoft SideWinder Force Feedback 2Please note: System specs are for reference in tech forums only and are not to be taken as meaning anything else.Doing so will result in eye-rolling, possible teeth grinding and perhaps mild internal chuckling.Happy Flying!
October 15, 200619 yr Keep what you have for now. Even with the latest and greatest, like myself, you'll have to get rid of/dumb down some features for smooth flying if that's what you want.
