FSX- CH Yoke- Landing Gear

Featured Replies

The landing switch on the CH Products yoke is not working correctly in FSX. It works in only one direction. Pushing the switch up extends and retracts the gear. Pushing the switch down has no effect. Changing assignments in the FSX settings sections reverses the effect. The landing gear extends and retracts when pushing down, but the gear does not work when pushing the switch up.Any suggestions? Thanks

Hi Joe,The landing switch on the CH Products yoke is not working correctly in FSXIt rather depends on what you mean by working correctly. In FS9 you could configure, say, switch 7 and 8 to retract and extend respectively. In FSX it seems to work differently in that now switch 8 (down) acts as a toggle to extend/retract the landing gear. Switch 7 (up) is now available and has been assigned the job of 'Releasing Droppable Objects' - presumably for use in various missions in FSX.Mike

Mike,Perhaps FS9 had two lines in settings, "Landing gear extend" and "Landing gear retract" assignable to switches 7 and 8. I need to check on that.It appears FSX has combined the two functions into one line in the settings "Landing gear(extend/retract)". Allowing only one assignment results in pushing the switch up to extend and retract the gear.Incidentally, there is a line above the "Landing Gear (extend/retract)" line that reads "Land Gear manual operations" or something to that effect. I tried assigning swithes 7 and 8 to it, but it had no effect.Do you know of a work-around?Thanks

I'm afraid not. To be honest, I'm quite happy with the toggle operation.Mike

Thanks, I'll give it a try tonight.JF
