November 14, 200619 yr I just bought the Asus EN7950GT and hooked up two monitors on the card. When setting the dual monitors up I get two options: wide screen = image spread over two monitors or clone where i get the same image on both monitors. In fact i wanted to use one for the cockpit and the other to undock lets say an overheadpanel or radio stack or whatver. This doesnt seem to function. Any help appreciatedEric
November 15, 200619 yr You should get more options than that. I get single display, clone, horizontal span, vertical span and dual display modes with my 7900 GTO using stock nVidia drivers. Dual display mode is the one you want. Try downloading the latest nVidia drivers and look for these options in the control panel (I use the classic interface).Gary 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11
November 15, 200619 yr Tnx Gary for yr fast reply.1/ could the problem be that I am using 1 Analog and 1 Digital monitor?2/ Last time a updated the Nvidia drivers (not on this card though) everything went crazy and had to revert to CDrom drivers.tnx 4 the helpEric
November 15, 200619 yr Eric,Analog vs digital monitors shouldn't make any difference - I've tried both combinations with success.Time to move on from your past bad experience with updating video drivers. It's pretty hard to go wrong with drivers posted on the nVidia site, and even things do go tilt you already know how to get back to where you were. Give it a go with the 93.71s currently posted there.Make sure you are looking in the right spot in the control panel tabs, per the screen shot below:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/161257.jpgGary 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11
November 15, 200619 yr Gary, updated drivers and there came the dual monitor option :)Will surely update regularly from now ontnx againEric
November 15, 200619 yr Very timely, I was just going to start the same project and dreaded getting into all those new things. This quicky tutorial pointed me in all the right directions and surely saved me a lot of time. Thanks to both of you. I see my 91.47 drivers have got all the right goodies and interface and a quick read of the basics makes it look like a straightforward project.
November 15, 200619 yr One more question:will I get less frame rates when using the undoicking option. I guess logically yes since i use same GPU tnxEric
November 15, 200619 yr Yes, but since the panels are only 2D the impact is very minimal to none. Now if you undock a 3D view and place it on the second screen, look forward to your FPS dropping by up to 10%. If you want to have a 3D view across both displays, spanned mode is the way to go.Gary 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11
November 17, 200619 yr I can't get over how easy this was. Usually my computer projects involve hours of reading, many failures and much frustration as one thing leads to another to another to ....... In this case, from the moment I decided it was time to hook up that other monitor, in 10 min. I had FS9 running with FSNavigator, auto pilot and a bunch of other stuff all on the second monitor. No significant frame rate hit at all either and no CTDs.Its the single best FS9 improvement I've made and it cost nothing, with the exception of the new computer. LOL..
November 17, 200619 yr Glad to hear it all went so smoothly. You can add more monitors you know ;-)Gary 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11
