CH Yoke & Pedals - Sensitivities / Realism settings request

Featured Replies

Hi All, Am loving FSX, but am finding it difficult to get the senstivity of the yoke and rudder setup well. It is way too 'twitchy' using the elevators and ailerons and the rudder is slow to react resulting in over compensating (usually too late) for taxiing. Takeoffs andf landings are just silly to control. Can someone post a screenie of their controls set up page and their realism settings please ? I have d/l the CH control manager - but haven't tried it yet as i don't understand if that takes control over the internal setup in FSX, if that makes sense ?I've done a search in the forum, but can't really find any setups to try other than tweaking individual cfg's. I really don't want to start having to alter the cfg's for each aircraft - i just don't see why we should have to do that - i believe the parameters should've been reasonably set within the scope of FSX sliders to accomodate joysticks / yokes and controller pads etcWould be really good if any real world pilots can offer there thoughts and / or setups? I've had two trial lessons in a PA38 Tomahawk, but can't remember how sensitive it was, as both lessons were in calm winds. I'm using FSX mainly for low and slow to minimise impact of FPS etc, but still love it !!:-cool Your help, as always, is much appreciated.... :-) Best RegardsEddyNorth Wales - UK

First-use the chmanager to calibrte the controls. Then if that doesn't take care of it-a registered version of fsuipc should take care of the rest. I had some initial problems as I use the yoke, rudders, and throttle quad. The ch manager got it all working-fsuipc fine tuned it like butter. Hope that helps!http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg

I haven't seen any confiormation of this, but I don't see any reason why the old FS9 tweak of stick_sensitivity_mode=0 shouldn't work for FSX.cfg too.Allcott

Hi Guys,Thanks for your speedy replies - i'm very grateful to you both. Is there anyway you could screenie or list your controls / realism settings ? It's getting better, but i want to set this up as well as poss. I don't have registered FSUIPC (run out of

As hasd been stated on many previous occasions, other peoples settings are no use to you, its' your settings, on your computer, with your hardware, that matters.Calibrate from within the VC, matching your hardware to the response of the virtual controls that give you the best response for your needs. There shoul dbe more than enough adjustability in the FS settings menu, but if there isn't, then the CH Control Manager software is free to download, if you don't want the registered version of FSUIPC.Allcott

Will just keep trying then. Thanks & RgsED
