November 25, 200619 yr Hi Guy's. I just changed my graphics card, and have decided to have a change, and went for a Nvidia 7800 GS with 512 on board RAM, I run this PC with 3 Gigs of Corsair Extreme RAM, with an Intel P4 3.40 CPU, both the graphics and CPU are water cooled by the way. The problem I have been having is that when connected to SB3 and if I have the transponder window at the bottom of the screen, where I can see if I transmit / receive / squawk etc, then I get a big black area covering about half of the lower panel window, is this known about, or is something I'm doing wrong! I have anti aliasing OFF in the sim, but set to 8X on the card, and my anisotropic set to 16X, and everything looks fantastic, but I wondered if there is anything that can be done to solve this at all. thanks for any feedback, Steve. Windows XP Professional SP3, ABIT IC7 MAX3 MotherBoard, Intel P4 3.40GHz HT, 4Gigs RAM, Hercules Digifire Sound Card, Geforce 7800GS 512RAM Graphics Card, FS9.1, REX, ASv6.5, GE pro.FE.
November 25, 200619 yr You need to turn your AA settings down to 4X.Same answer Craig Moulton gave in the Squawkbox forum. This has been a known NVIDIA bug for a long time. Clarke Kruger - CYEG
November 25, 200619 yr Author Thanks Clarke, what a shame I have to turn down my AA to half of what the card is capable of.I will fire off an email to Nvidia to see what they say, if anything.I wonder why it has not been addressed if it's been known about for a long time, and I wonder why I never saw it with my ATI X800 PE that just died.I will also contact Michael from FSGS, to see if he has any thoughts on it.oh well,Thanks again. November 25, 200619 yr I never saw it on my ATI 9700 Pro either.I believe it has something to do with how NVIDIA cards handle AA.I've almst come to the point of starting SB outside of the Sim or network it over from my other computer.Let me know if you find out anything new.Cheers Clarke Kruger - CYEG
