Additional RAM benefits

Featured Replies

I am new to Avsim, but have been using MSFS for years. Have had probably 6 versions since the original DOS product. Have decided to stick with FS2004 after reading dismal reviews of FSX. I am running an older system and for lots of reasons am waiting for another year of so before building a new system. Here is what I have:Pentium P4 1.8 GhzAsus P4T-E Motherboard512 RamGeForce FX 550 video card with 256 MB ramI think that FS2004 performance on my system is decent, but I am sure it could be better. Question: What sort of performance improvement would I get if I upgraded to 1GB of Ram? ThanksJ

As you've already stated you're happy with the way it runs then upgrading the RAM will make negligible difference I suspect. I would save the money and use it when you upgrade the whole system.RegardsJim

Well being ram is realively cheap i would say upgrade to the 1 gig. it is a big difference between 512 and 1 gig. out of all the ram upgrades, 512 to 1 gig is the biggest difference. if you aren't ahppy with what you get, take it back!jack
