February 17, 200719 yr Hello,I have an Athlon FX60, 2GB Ram,2 SATA Raid 0 Hard drives , and 2 7800GT in SLI.I am getting the most horrific framerates when I try the suggested settings such as Autogen Dense, textures on high etc. etc. I have adjusted the Microsoft X profile in the Nvidia Control panel countless times, going through all the various SLI options - Force AFR 1, Force AFR2, Force Split Screen, and Force Single GPU.The onscreen display changes to show that yes, the control panel is making the changes. For example you see the change in the Onscreen SLI display when going from AFR to Split Screen. But there is literally no difference in framerates between SLI and Single GPU mode. Am I doing something wrong, or does FSX not support SLI (Or ViceVersa)?
February 17, 200719 yr You are doing nothing wrong - SLI is not supported (or more like not utilised) by FSX.Gary 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11
February 17, 200719 yr *GASP!*My goodness! Why'd they do that when so many depend on SLI! :( *sniff*No wonder. My little 7800GT can't manage the game on it's own.......*runs off wailing morosely*
February 17, 200719 yr FSX does not take advantage of multi-core or SLI. I believe this topic has been beat to death...
February 17, 200719 yr Welp..I did a search. Didn't find any posts directly related to it. Saw a few folks even talking about having 2 6800s in SLI etc. and bumping up graphics settings. If it doesn't utilise SLI...which I take it that it does not...then I guess I'm going to have to run the game with the settings quite low. At least the AutoGen settings, the buildings and what not. Which makes low level flying a bit droll considering the textures are very blurry at low altitude.
February 17, 200719 yr The only thing that this game will use is a very fast cpu, or at least one core of the cpu...SLI will give you the ability to run higher levels of AA and AF without loss in frame rate so there is that benefit at least, but there will be no increase in frame rate between one or two cards otherwise. I think we all need to wait for FSXI to usher flightsim into the current state of hardware trends.
