vista / fsx / multi monitors problems

Featured Replies

Hi allCan anyone help, I have just upgraded XP to Vista Ultimate and have a 4 monitor setup, with 2 Nvidia 7800 GTX cards on a ASUS SLI board, have a 3gb cpu and 4gb of memory.I run FS9 and FSX (not togther ) on 3 of the monitors giving a front and 2 x 45* views, the textures are fine with excellent ground detail on the front and right hand side monitor, but the left monitor textures are suffering from the blurries.I have the latest Nvidia drivers installed, and all 4 monitors are the same make. Anyone any ideas on what i am doing wrong, or is it another Vista gremlim?.Thanks Paul

There is a known bug with Vista multimon support that affects any application that tries to go fullscreen. Its in line for a QFE and will be addressed in Vista SP1. Either stay windowed, or only go fullscreen with 1 monitor. As far as your blurries, perhaps you dont have enough hp for that config on Vista given its exra overhead and the state of the drivers. Try upping your fiber time or reducing the resolution or reducing the slider settings.

PhilThanks for this, what do you mean by "hp" ?Paul

horsepower. given there is a bit of extra overhead to Vista as compared to XP, and Vista drivers arent fully matured - its probably wise to dial Vista settings down a bit right now. turn things down, use the fiber tweak, and then start turning things back on and see.
