CH Throttle Quadrant help !!!

Featured Replies

Can someone help me out here on how to set this up.When I try to map it it tells me to assign XYZRUV axis from left to right but in the FS there are no axis witrh RUV. I am having a bit if a headache with the pedals, yoke and quadrant all working correctly. If osmeon knows of a tutorial that would be great.Andy

Hi AndyIt depends on quite a few things. If you want to use the CH control Manager Software to "map" your controllers then the CH forum [http://www.ch-hangar.com/forum/] has lots of tips to set it up. I have a guide there on how to set up the various CH controllers in FS9 - just search on my name. You only need the CH software if you have extremely complex commands you want to send to your game controllers. If you want to use FS to set it up then you can use the WINXP game controllers to calibrate up your yoke, pedals, TQ, etc and assign everything via FS9.Do you have FSUIPC installed? If the answer is yes, and you have the payware version you can set up game controllers with or without any input from FS and if you go to Pete Dowson's forum on Simflight {http://forums.simflight.com/viewforum.php?f=54) forums there is an excellent [FSUIPC gide for CH owners] guide on how to set up the yoke etc in FSUIPC.If you want a mixture of all 3 Bob Church's guide cmnote02.zip from www.stickworks.com is excellent, and Bob who can be reached via the Ch forums is an expert on how to set up the CH products in FS9I personally use the FSUIPC only approach ie I have disabled the the joystick in FS9, I don't use the CHCM software, and just use FSUIPC to assign and calibrate my controllers, but I only fly GA aircraft and a couple of BJ's, but I never have any control issues.Hope this helpsPeter Hayes

Thanks for your help right now I have deleted the CH CM and am juas using windows straight up, but I do have a reg ver of FSUIPC and I will be going that way likely.I had a Saitek X45 and I cannot believe the realism this has to offer.I want to figure out how to get rev thrust from the detent back and use the detent as idle. Thanks AgainAndy

Hi andyGreat news. Its quite easy to set the reverse thrust from the detente. First of all open up the windows game controller and choose the Saitek X45 controller, then "properties" and then choose the "throttle settings" tab. On the throttle axis usually the "X-axis" change the detent value to "240" switch to "test/Calibrate" tab and calibrate the joystick. Open the FS, choose FSUIPC with the alt button assign the throttle axis in FSUIPC and then calibrate in FSUIPC and if all goes well the reverse thrust should be easy to set at the detent position.Good luckPeter Hayes
