September 5, 200718 yr I see ads for dual video cards and also ads for systems that can take 8 gig ram..With These combos, (does anyone have this yet?)would FSX be a smoothY and would it give a heck of a boost to FS9?Just curious as I am waitng the new year to maike a purchase!Mike
September 5, 200718 yr Short answer no. Longer answer is that it takes a 64 bit OS and a 64 bit app to see and use that much memory. FSX and FS9 are 32 bit apps limited to 2GB RAM for the application and the 32 bit versions of Windows (Vista and XP) can use just a smidge over 3GB total anyay. There is a way to allow FSX to use more than 2GB, but the side effects mean the app can stomp where the OS is already stomping - ie. bad news.Gary 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11
