October 11, 200718 yr I'm thinking about upgrading to a new machine with a Q6600 processor OC'd to 2.93 ghz. Currently have Radar Contact, Flightsim Commander, Active Sky and FDC networked to a client laptop via wideclient. I know that neither FS9 or FSX will use all the Q6600 cores but can the add-ons run on the unused cores so that I can eliminate the laptop but not suffer a performance hit.Any advice is appreciated.ThanksJeb
October 11, 200718 yr If you have a dual core now, after initial load up it can handle FS9 or FSX + addons without a performance hit while running. Quad core may be the future, but dual core does the job quite well for FS for now.Gary 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11
October 11, 200718 yr Thanks Gary...no I currently have a P4 3ghz Dell Dimension. Runs FS9 pretty well, FSX not so good.Jeb
