November 24, 200718 yr Thank you so much. Now I am having the problem with the re-installation of FSX, Error 8. I changed the registry as recommended, but no difference. I de- and reinstalled it numerous times, still the same error. I hate this:)
November 24, 200718 yr Try running a reg cleaner, then do a chkdsk run. Poor 'puter's just all confused. That might settle things down.
November 25, 200718 yr Sam,Finally got everything installed. I actually got an Intel MB because the one from Fry can only hold 2gb of Ram and I have 4. They should have never sold me that board. Without the CPU/Ram change, I was getting on about 40% settings 14-18FPS, and that is with the new 8800 Ultra. Now I changed the sliders to about 75-80% and I getting 28-31FPS. That is with PMDG's 747 at LAX. I am very happy now and want to thank you for your great advise! Well done.Bernd
November 25, 200718 yr Cool, now lets go flying. PMDG fan? Double cool. Get Dan Down's latest SID/STAR update from the library. Morph at KONT and set your 744's FMC for a Pomona 6 departure. On your arrivals page, hook up LAX's Sadde6 ILS24R arrival. Use the AVE transition. That'll get you nice wide circuit. You'll enjoy the view of Malibu ride on down the coast. Blast off. As you transition onto Sadde at AVE, you'll have the whole LA area stretched out in front of you. Malibu will be just off to the right as you track down the coast. Remember, at or above 7000 feet as you turn downwind over Santa Monica. Look directly to your right, There's LAX. Sadde6 downwind leg will take you out over the city and just south of Downtown. What a view. Just past downtown, the FMC will start cranking a Very hard base-less turn to final. Hang on! Make sure you are slowed down for this turn. Flaps 20 and 180 konts. If you're not slowed down, you'll swing wide. 24L's arrival pattern is just next door and ATC will be on ya in a heartbeat. If have your speed under control, you'll capture the LOC (and GS) just as your roll out on final. Establish. The hard parts over, Kick off the AP bring 'em on home. I haven't seen this in FSX yet. With MegasceneryX, this is gonna be spectacular. Get the idea? Now, hand fly the whole thing. Is this just too much fun, or what?
November 25, 200718 yr I am in heaven, this is fun flying now. I love the heavies, just waiting for good scenery now.
