March 29, 200818 yr Just a Heads Up.I recently installed a PNY NVidia GeForce 8600 GT board. Tonight I noticed a chattering noise from the computer, and at first thought I was about to experience a mechanical hard drive failure. After shutting down and opening the computer I found the following:The PNY card has a fan that is on the bottom of the card. Glued to the fan center disc is a thin but hard circular plastic label with the PNY logo. This label had moved completely off-center during fan rotation, and was rubbing on the sides of the fan duct. It was causing the noise, loading the fan motor, and I believe, just from feel, that the card was running hot (no temp measurements taken).I can see no reason for the label other than appearance; it is glued to the top of the transparent fan center disc. Therefore I just removed it completely. Everything appears to be working normally now. I checked out the PNY Technology home site, but could not find a way to report a product problem to them. I am not recommending removing the label from a properly functioning fan, the label displacement during fan rotation may not be a general problem. In my case the glue seemed to be defective. However, if you start to hear strange sounds look here before disassembling something more complicated.Regards,Thrakete
