FGFS v0.9.4 for MS Windows uploaded to MISC Files library

Featured Replies

For those interested, I have uploaded a copy of the latest release of the Flight Gear Flight simulator (v0.9.4) to AVSIM for posting in the 'MISC Files' library (as there is no Flight Gear library section!). I don't know when it will actually be available for download from AVSIM.NOTE: The file is over 83MB. Those with Dial-up are STRONGLY urged to use a download utility (Get Right, et al). Tom

Tom, I have put out the request to our tech guys to create a FlightGear section. Once that happens, we'll move that file over to the proper category. Thanks for taking the time to upload it. I may start on the terrain stuff later this week.

Tom,No problem with the upload. Also, anyone having problems downloading from AVSIM can use one of the other 'mirror' sites listed at the FlightGear site (http://www.flightgear.org/mirrors.html#ftp).Also, since Flight gear is available primarily for Linux, I was not certain if anyone wanted the Linux 'Sources' posted here or not. (You'd have to be familiar with programming, Linux, and Aeronautics, etc, before you could make much use of them.)As for my current installation on Win98SE, w/512MB RAM, a GeForce Ti 200 graphics card (running 2x AGP), nVidia v56.62 drivers, I have been having 'lock-ups' and problems running the FlightGear Win32 version. (I have also had problems with Netscape, and think this is a nVidia driver issue.) Linux users probably won't have any of these problems.Tom Carlyle

Tom C.Thanks for the upload.AVSIM is probably the best place on Earth to download FlightGear now. I am maxing out my DSL at 325 Kb/sec. Haven't seen any mirror sites doing this.FlightGear works beautifully on my XP system here. No lockups.--Machdiamond
