April 20, 200620 yr I meant that I do not see an airport when taking off from heathrow. There is an error if it is trying to look for 28r.
April 21, 200620 yr >I meant that I do not see an airport when taking off from>heathrow.define "airport"?In FGFS world, an airport may be as simple as runways and some taxiways, do you see runways and taxiways? So if you are looking for terminal buildings etc. this stuff is usually not available by default.>There is an error if it is trying to look for 28r.Nope, most likely you simply failed to ask for a certain runway at startup, thus it's using the default runway, which in fact happens to be 28R (for KSFO).Anyway, you should be able to reposition the aircraft at runtime using the "location" dialog. Simply try EGLL/27R
April 21, 200620 yr I see the runway and taxiways unlike before where it was just a white screen. No airport buildings, if this is not available by default how is it available? The location is repostiooned on EGLL/27R which i guess is dafualt for EGLL.Many thanks for your assiatance.
April 25, 200620 yr >I see the runway and taxiways unlike before where it was just>a white screen. No airport buildings, if this is not available>by default how is it available?all scenery objects are usually customized by hand, volunteers are encouraged to populate areas of their choice and contribute the data back to the project. The SFO area is a good example of what's possible. There's a separate scenery database at http://fgfsdb.stockill.org where contributors can upload and download 3D models for scenery objects.Depending on the area you are interested in, the corresponding models may however already be part of the scenery tile you downloaded. So, if you are at an airport that seems to be insufficiently populated with 3D objects, you can populate it yourself using the aforementioned models, or even add your own models, that you can later on also contribute to the scenery DB. Whenever you add 3D models to the scenery, you may also provide the corresponding real life coordinates to the scenery DB maintainers, so that your contribution will be available for future scenery builds by default. Also, please note that this topic is probably better discussed on the FlightGear mailing lists, where more people are likely to be familiar with the details.

April 26, 200620 yr No, you don't. In general, you should be able to fly most aircraft using the keyboard and/or mouse alone.
May 1, 200620 yr i just got flightgear and i'm having some trouble on the runway.what am i doing wrong?? plz help
May 10, 200620 yr >i just got flightgear and i'm having some trouble on the>runway.>>what am i doing wrong?? how are we supposed to be able to help you if you provide such a sparse amount of information? What sort of problems do you exactly experience? Please try to carefully describe the problems, as well as tell us whether the problems seem to be related to any startup or runtime settings. You may find the following page helpful:http://www.seedwiki.com/wiki/flight_gear/h...you?wpid=247004Also please note that it is generally a much better to start a new thread for new topics, rather than keep posting in an unrelated thread.
