FS2K2 vanishing airports

Featured Replies

I have recently lost a number of airports and airfields in the mid-Alanatic and northeast regions of the US. They show up on the "Go To Airport" screen, but I can't place an a/c. The .txt files are also still present. I have uninstalled and re-installed FS2K2, same spiffy problem. I need some help here. Pan-pan, pan-pan, pan-pan.Thanks.

If you are using WinXP, right click your fs2002 Icon, select properties, Compatibility tab, and ensure compatibility mode is not selected. If it was selected, restart fs2002 and see if the problem is fixed. If not, when you uninstalled fs2002, did you delete the residual fs2002 folder left on your hardrive? If not, this may have left corrupted files that were reinstalled when you installed fs2002 again.Copy your fs2002 folder and rename the copy fs2002OLD. Uninstall fs2002, once uninstalled use Windows Explorer and delete the residual fs2002 folder (NOT fs2002OLD). Reinstall fs2002. Once installed, start fs2002 and check to see if the problem exists. If not, your set and you can delete fs2002OLD.If the problem still exists, then you have other problems possibly with limited disk drive space, swap file size, driver issues with your controller chips, graphics adapter, sound card, NIC, modems, etc.
