January 1, 200620 yr I have hand painted a B727-200 full bodied aircraft and cannot get it into fs9. I have quite a few documents and none seem to work. Sending a pix of my first hand made texture to see if it's right and to find out how I can get it into the aircraft sitting on my tarmac. Frank!"Attachments not working"
January 1, 200620 yr It sounds like you're having the problem between the painting program and flight sim. You need to convert the bmp for flight sim use.If you click on my repaint tutorials link above my signature, click on "Tutorials" then scroll down to the "How to..." section and there is a page entitled "Converting Bmps", have a read. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
January 1, 200620 yr Yes, I have downloaded and printed your "How to..." and although it is very informaive, it didn't really help me. I did everything as you suggested at I still am having this problem. What I need is something by the numbers. Nothing has been mentioned about the size of the textured bmp's, is the size not important? How about pixels. I'm really at a loss. Frank!
January 2, 200620 yr What exactly is your problem? Is it that it is not displaying in flight sim?Flight Sim aircraft texture files are generally 1024x1024 for fuselage textures (the dimensions will always be square). They should remain as the size when saved from your repainting program. At 1024x1024 the bmp (when saved from the program) will most likely be 4mb. Once converted to 32bit it will also remain at the same size as it isn't compressing the bmp. If you choose to compress it into DXT3 then it'll generally decrease in mbs to 1.33mb. You should really worry about the dimensions of the bmp, just always keep as the size it is saved as. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
January 2, 200620 yr I finally got the one texture for the aircraft to display except it was huge. I looked for an information log in photshop but couldn't find one. I wanted to lower the size some how. I painted the full blank 727-200. I tried to install the other textures of the crowded page but it didnn't work. Frank!
January 2, 200620 yr The texture file should either be around 4mb or 1.3mb.. 1.3 being DXT3 which is the lowest you can go to retain quality. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
