May 31, 200620 yr Hi,I thought I'd try my hand at repainting lately, so I brushed of and installed a copy of Adobe Photoshop 7.0 we had on the shelf here. When I tried opening a repaint texture from the aircraft folder, I got this message:"Could not open C:FS9AircraftAS 350 Ecureuiltextureext01_t.bmp because of a disk error"I tried opening other files, and some work, some don't. Has anyone of you an idea what is wrong here?I am a complete newbie to photoshop, so I'm most likely overseeing something blatantly obvious, but I couldn't find anything in the help file. Thanks,CC
May 31, 200620 yr The most likely problem is they're in a format unreadable in their present state.Probably in DXT3, they're compressed so save on space. By compressing them they'll actually lose quality and even more so if they're converted back to 32bit for work. So the best way to do repainting is starting off with a base, thats whhere paint kits come in.You'll need to get DXTBmp to open up the image then convert it in to a workable format (32 or 24 bit) Click here to have a read about converting bmps using DXTBmp. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
