Flight1 and Textomatic

Featured Replies

Wondering if someone that has done Flight1 repaints using their paintkits can lend a hand.I received a blank paintkit in .psd format, did the repaint and saved it as .bmp along with the alpha file. When the person runs the Textomtatic application on it, it compresses the entire .bmp file onto the top of the wings.. everything, tail, fuselage etc is all on the top of the wings. What do I have to do to get the file to work with Textomatic?

Well...If you are using PhotoShop...Should be almost the same with PSP?Save the painted .psd as a regular 24 bit.bmp.The "Alpha Channel"...Remove all color...I.E. Grayscale...and save as "8-bit"...You almost always have to name the alpha..."_a"...Like....727_100United.bmp "painted".....And 727_100United_a.bmp for the "Alpha"...Also,You may want to remove or hide any "Alpha Channels" before you save the painted .bmp from the psd...Jeff

Yep, the file is saved as a .bmp and I have a grayscale alpha channel file with a _a.bmp extention.

Hmmmm...Dont use the "Alpha" when you run T-o-M and see what happens? It just prompts you that you dont' have one.Can you post a screen shot of what is going on?Jeff

Still no go on this. What I am doing is just cutting the .psd into 5 1024x1024 sections and then just manually converting them to DXT3.And Flight 1 is no help.
