PSS 757 PK... Please Help

Featured Replies

Hello all. Really need some help here with the PSS 757 Paint Kit. Could anyone identify what I did wrong here?1.) Open a modified BMP PSS-B7524Main_t (created from another user from the 757-200 Master PSD) in Photoshophttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/159887.jpg2.) Add necessary text and image files as layers.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/159888.jpg3.) Add color directly to the Background layerhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/159889.jpg4.) Copy all to a fresh PSD file. Save as a 32-bit BMP. Verify size at 1024 X 1024 & 96 pixels (just like every other PSS model in the directory). This is what I get.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/159890.jpg:-mad :-mad :-mad :-mad :-mad What am I doing wrong here?

Have you converted it back through DXTBmp for flight sim use?

Yes I did. Attempted to save both as an Extended 32 bit, then as a DXT 3. No joy on either.

Are you still having this issue?Pretty strange! May sound obvious but are you naming the bmp correctly? How about it being the correct colour mode in PS under Image - Mode? I'm scrapping the barrell here :)

I've been saving the file as PSS-B7524Main_t.bmp. As for the correct color mode... well, that's a new term for me. I'll check once I get home. Just out of curiosity, what is the correct mode?BTW - thanks for all your help on this.Best Regards,

Is that what the actual bmp is called in the other texture folders? Sounds like a long winded name to me.. I doubt it'd do much but I think it should be set as RGB.. by opening a bmp from other paint scheme into photoshop you can check the mode.No worries on the help.. certainly is a strange one :)

Ok. It's in RBG mode, which is the same as the others. I'm really at a loss as to what to do next. Other than file size (5.3MB vs 4.0MB) all characteristics are identical to the skins that came with the package.

Hi fellow painter,There could be two problems here depending on which 757 model you are using for your aircraft:i. you have probably saved it with the correct name and in the correct format out of your paint program but I have always found I need to load the file into imagetool and save it back again (without any alteration to file or filename) before it will load properly into FS2004; you will probably need to do this with any texture file that you change for the PSS aircraft.ii. if that does not solve your problem, try renaming the file from PSS-B7523Main_t.bmp to PSS-B7524Main_t.bmp or vice versa (some models use different texture filenames)I have done a lot of painting for PSS aircraft and found this always solves my problem. See an example of my work in the picture below.Regards,Brianhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/160082.jpg
